Jane's Monogrammed Home in September's Good Housekeeping

How exciting to see Jane's home profiled in the September 2024 issue of Good Housekeeping UK.  The journalist, James Cunningham, turns out to be a big fan of a good monogram so we were thrilled to see some glimpses of the monogrammed linens that are draped all over the house.

From the kitchen, where monogrammed tea towels hang from the stove and monogrammed linen napkins and coasters fill a drawer (or two), to the bathrooms where monogrammed towels are hung from every towel rack, to the bedrooms where monogrammed linen bedding features in every room.

The feature came about because Lucinda Sanford Design, who recently renovated the house from top to bottom, was approached by Good Housekeeping to feature one of the homes that she's recently designed.  Jane's house was one of several proposed but the extra personal touch of monogrammed made the house stand out.

We've had a sit down with a cup of tea to look through the article in detail...

The theme of the article is mixing new and old furnishings to create a very personal space. Little monogrammed touches in each room add an extra layer of personality throughout the house.

Lucinda's eye for colourful, textured textiles is certainly on show in the house.  From the upholstery to the window treatments to the wallpaper, bold and colourful patterns are dotted around the house. We love the monogrammed velvet cushions on the sitting room chairs, featuring the family surname initial.

The wallpaper-backed Beata Heuman fabric in the dining room and kitchen features shades of blue, ranging from navy to a pale blue.

monogramming for the home

We love that the journalist flagged the monogrammed napkins on the dining room table. Monogrammed linen napkins have been in English homes for centuries and they are making a comeback, both as a sustainable alternative to disposable paper napkins and as a style statement now that table setting trends so popular.

Monogrammed linens are the layer on a beautiful tablescape that adds an extra personal touch.

monogrammed pillows and monogrammed pillowcases

Monogrammed pillows can be found on sofas as well as beds.  Our Velvet Cushion Covers add a pop of mustardy colour in the family television room.  And monogrammed pillowcases can be found in every bedroom. It's not just a decorative touch, but a practical way to keep linens organised by room.

And of course each bathroom has a set of monogrammed bath towels.
