When Claire, the founder of Claire Do Monte Weddings, contacting us about creating embroidered linen napkins for a chic evening wedding at The Ned in London, we were delighted to help. We are an official supplier for The Ned and the venue is well known to us... this wedding reception was being held in their stunning Tapestry Room.
The wedding theme was black and white, so black embroidery on white linen napkins was an easy decision. It is often the case with wedding embroidery that we need to match the thread to a Pantone reference for the wedding's colour scheme. Not so with this project.
The bride had created two embroidery designs. One was a handwritten design featuring the bride and groom's first names: Lou & Louis. The other was a bespoke monogram created by their first name initials and their shared surname initial. It turns out that their surname also began with L so an incredible monogram shape using all three Ls was created in the shame of a contemporary heart outline. The napkins were alternated on the table... an utterly gorgeous and creative touch.
We embroidered both designs on our 100% linen napkins with a plain hem. These napkins measure 50x50cm and are a gorgeous drapey linen with a more contemporary look than hemstitch napkins. Claire's dinner table features lines of candles instead of flowers, and the candles were placed on mirrored plates that doubled the effect of the candles.
The monogrammed napkins added a final layer of detail to the gorgeous table. What an utterly chic look... what do you think?
